Why Your Morning Routine Is CRINGE.

Most people don't understand THIS about morning routines...

“Morning routines are so cringe!”

There are 3 possible reasons why someone would say this:

  1. They don’t realise that they already have a routine they’ve unconsciously adopted anyway (which is probably making their life worse).

  2. They don’t realise how big of an influence your morning has on the rest of your day, and your life.

  3. They think all these habits are useless, and that you’re better off getting an extra 30 minutes sleep and just start working as soon as you wake up.

But there’s a big flaw with this thinking that most people miss:

So I used to wake up at 7:30 to leave for school at 8.

Normally, I could just squeeze all the essentials into this time (you know - get changed, eat breakfast, scroll on my phone.)

But one day, I scrolled for just a bit too long - and when I finally came to my senses, the clock said 7:50.

I had 10 minutes.

So I skipped brushing my teeth, shoved 3 spoons of porridge down my throat, and got out of the house just on time.

But throughout the rest of my day, I felt like a zombie.

I was forced to go from sleeping to rushing almost instantly, from 0-100, and I just felt disorientated.

My mind felt cluttered and confused. All my thoughts were flying around in my head in different directions.

At the time, 99% of my mornings went something like this.

How was I ever going to be able to focus, or do anything useful with the rest of my day?

But all of this changed when I learned one secret principle:

This is something I learned from the book “7 habits of highly effective people”.

The private victory must come before the public victory.

I used to try to do as well as I could in my lessons or play well in the football match, before I even had control over myself.

I needed to first gain that private victory over myself, before I could gain a victory over others.

When done correctly, you can start to build some confidence and get some momentum going, that will propel you throughout the rest of your day.

Before you go on social media, go to work/school, or even talk to others - you need to first gain a private victory over yourself, to get all your thoughts flying in the same direction.

So you’re ready to take on the world.

Hope this helped,

Yvan
